interrogative Questions

on 30 August 2008..at che teh's home..when i talk and hangout with my cousin, we were talking about our village.and i haven not going back for a long time to celebrate merdeka.so we decided to go back to kelantan by tomorrow morning maybe around 6 am.

on 31 August 2008.at 6 am we on the way to go to kelantan.
i heard mira and aifaa talk each other.they talk about :-

Are we almost there?
Why do you keep asking that?
How far is it?
How far have we gone?
Is Grandma going to be there when we get there?
What do you think we'll do there?
Does she still have those great games in the attic?

A question is a type of sentence that is trying to get information. It is called an interrogative questions. An interrogative sentence needs a question mark at the end. Questions are easy to spot because they often start with words like:

How did he do that?
Why are you late?
What time is it?

Making Assumption

Assumption can easily make unconsciously. I want to share on what did happen to me today. As like any other month I went to celcom to make a payment for my hand phone bill’s and unbarred my line. I queue up inline waiting for my turn. I felt very weird today because time seems to pass very slowly and my head started to vibrate.

I looked at the counter and i saw the clerk was talking to her mate beside her. In my head i was making an assumption that she is not doing her job but wasting time talking to her friend. Even though, i did not have any prove to clarify my statement in my head but i just can kept up with my emotion. When i get near to the counter i found out that they were not having social conversation but they have problem with the internet network. thats why , it took so long for to serve each customer because they have to process the transaction manually.

The moral of the story, peoples have to be careful in making any thought because naturally we are very easy to make assumption without consider with any premises or evidence.

PetiTio PrinciPii

1) "Dear Friend, a man who has studied law to its highest degree is a brilliant lawyer, for a brilliant lawyer has studied law to its highest degree."

2) "There are many juvenile delinquents because many juveniles break the law, and the reason so many juveniles break the law is that they are juvenile delinquents."

Petitio principii in Latin means “begging the question”. In English means “avoiding the argument” or “going around the argument”.

Example 1 :

"The water is like the sun."

"The water is like the sun" is an example of simile because water and the sun have little in common, and yet they're being compared to one another. The "is" is also part of what makes this stanza an example of simile.

"The rain falls like the sun,
rising upon the mountains."

Here is another example, comparing falling rain to the rising of the sun. Good similes compare two very different nouns.

Example 2 :

His temper was as explosive as a volcano.

His temper is being compared to a volcano in that it can be sudden and violent.

Similes are comparisons that show how two things that are not alike in most ways are similar in one important way. Similes are a way to describe something. Authors use them to make their writing more interesting or entertaining.

Similes use the words “as” or “like” to make the connection between the two things that are being compared.

Mobile phone users free to switch

PUTRAJAYA: From today, mobile phone users can enjoy the freedom of switching network service providers without having to forgo their original phone number, including the prefix number.

Effective today, the service will be extended to users with prepaid mobile phone numbers in the Klang Valley and post-paid users can start enjoying the benefit in two weeks’ time.

In a statement, Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said the service, known as Mobile Number Portability (MNP), would take away the inconvenience associated with switching service providers and consumers’ concern over losing their contacts when doing so.
“Service providers are allowed to charge up to RM25 each time subscribers change their mobile phone service provider. This will give the users choice and freedom to choose their service providers without the inconvenience of having to change their numbers,” Shaziman said.

“The nationwide launch for the MNP will be done in October.”
Shaziman said MNP was about improved service quality, better packages, better customer service and giving consumers choice, adding that initially only individual account holders would be able to use the service while business accounts could do so after the nationwide launch.

He said that until the nationwide launch each service provider would only be able to accept 100 requests a day, adding that prepaid users’ balance credit would not be refunded.

Mobile phone users can find out more on the MNP at the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission website at www.skmm.gov.my and at mobile operators’ websites.

Dr Mahathir fires a salvo at Anwar.

PUTRAJAYA: Just a day after Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim won the Permatang Pauh Parliamentary seat, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad fired his first salvo at him by claiming the PKR adviser could “convince even the devil to follow him”.

Dr Mahathir predicted that once back in Parliament, Anwar would make “life very difficult” for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi..

“I don’t think Abdullah is a match for Anwar. He is going to raise all kinds of issues and questions and will demand and pressure the Prime Minister for answers. It is going to be a tough time for Barisan,” he said.

Dr Mahathir, however, felt that Anwar would not get 30 MPs to switch sides to form the government. He said the PKR adviser might think he could “buy” the MPs but it would be impossible for him to “outbid the other bidders who have more money.”

“The Permatang Pauh by-election results is a clear message for Barisan Nasional, Umno and its leaders. Within five months after the March 8 polls, Barisan lost the seat again, with a bigger majority than the last time.

“I believe this will be the trend at other places as well,” he said when met at his office yesterday.

He said Abdullah, his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and other leaders should not close their “ears and eyes” to the people’s message and should not blame the Permatang Pauh defeat on sabotage or other elements.

“If changes are made two years from now, then Umno will face an uphill task to gain strength and the people’s confidence. If they fail to change, then Barisan can expect defeat in the 13th general election,” he said, adding he was willing to come back to the party if Abdullah stepped down before the scheduled handover to Najib in 2010.

He said Umno should be concerned that the party was losing popularity and appeal and even the DAP had become more appealing to the Malays, referring to former Transparency International Malaysia chairman Tunku Aziz Tunku Ibrahim joining the DAP.

In this statement, Dr Mahathir used differentiating fact and opinion. BUT he mostly used opinion because this statement more involve about feeling, judgment, belief, an conclusion that can't be proven true by objective evidence
